Hayman Hookway - Founder & Guide

Originally discovering the beauty of the Rocky Mountains after moving from Tasmania to work at a backcountry based summer camp over 10 years ago, Hayman has since spent his years guiding dogsled tours, skiing all over Western Canada and building the foundations for what eventually became Mountain Movements. Bringing his unrelenting passion for skiing and adventure to the mountains he now calls home; his genuine commitment to ensuring guests have fun is palpable. Hayman dreams big and brings an unparalleled enthusiasm to the MM team. Having completed his Engineer degree back in Tasmania, he now dedicates his time into building MM both in Canada and back in Tasmania. Hayman can now be found with a huge smile every day as he shares his favourite ski runs and micro brew pints with every guest he meets on the Powder Highway.

Robert Leland - Director & Guide

After working a season with Mountain Movements as a local host at Whitewater, Rob knew that he wanted to join the team and help it grow to its full potential as the best package tour operator in Western Canada and beyond. Based out of Nelson B.C. he spends his Winters working with MM and Ski Patrolling. The shoulder seasons find Rob traveling to surf around the world and explore new destinations to grow the mountain biking and future surf tourism side of the business. Rob has a bachelor’s degree Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership, and has worked showing clients the magic of the outdoors seasonally since 2006. Join him for a lap down his favourite pillow line at the ski hill, or compare cocktails strolling between his favourite local hangouts off Baker street.
